Memorial Park was designed in the early 1920's as a tribute to the 1,220 Floridians who lost their lives in World War I. It was designed by famed landscaped architect firm, The Olmsted Brothers and sculptor, Charles Adrian Pillars, designed Spiritualized Life for the park.
